Breastfeeding takes A LOT of energy.
On average, a woman’s body burns 500-800 calories/day just from producing milk. You need to make sure that you are consuming enough food and water to produce enough milk. Other things to consider around your milk production are stress level, menstrual cycle, and breast-emptying frequency. This is where lactation consultants can be helpful!
It is recommended to continue the diet and supplement changes you made during pregnancy through your breastfeeding journey as well.
